Commercial ULR Legal Advisor

Salary: £21,000

Job Purpose:

To have day-to-day conduct of commercial ULR files both non-litigated and litigated small claims, set up cases and liaise with Brokers / commercial clients.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• To assist in the progress in an appropriate and timely manner, making use of the firms Case Management Systems and using the agreed internal procedures and practices
• To assess losses at all times to ensure that all the clients and source receive appropriate, professional and timely manner
• Ensure pertinent legal advice is provided and client are kept fully informed on the progress of the claim in support of the file handlers
• To achieve and exceed all targets
• To deal with post, telephone calls and emails expeditiously and to ensure that not worked on lists and to do lists are kept up to date
• To ensure that all referred cases are opened and progressed
• To keep brokers and / or commercial clients informed
• To provide on-going support to the file handlers

Experience & Knowledge:

• Experience of Insurance
• Litigation Experience
• An ability to work in an organised manner
• Excellent client care and communication skills
• Experience of working with a case management system
• An ability to work using own initiative within boundaries
• An ability to work effectively with people across a wide range of levels and responsibilities
• Good IT / Keyboard skills
• Attention to detail
• Team player
