Job Purpose:

To assist the Risk & Compliance Team by providing support with compliance tasks and routine administrative assistance as required whilst learning about the importance of the compliance function and how it supports the wider business to manage its regulatory and legislative obligations. As a compliance apprentice, you can embark on a career path involving on the job training and development with an opportunity to take obtain relevant qualifications.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To learn a range of basic tasks and to gradually take on responsibility for routine
  • Support on monitoring activities for compliance with regulations and internal policies to
    ensure they are up to date with the relevant regulation and legislation;
  • Maintain records on all key controls monitoring and risk assurance activities;
  •  Provide administrative support in maintaining records relating to ISO10002;
  •  Proactively manage diaries and diarise actions for follow up;
  •  Plan and organise your work, focusing on priorities to meet agreed timescales including regulatory deadlines and escalate when appropriate;
  •  Minute internal meetings
  •  Taking responsibility for personal development and growth;
  • Effective prioritisation of tasks whilst managing a full workload;
  •  Liaise and build relationships as appropriate with colleagues;
  •  Answer and make telephone calls as and when required;
  • File, archive, photocopy, scan documents as and when required;
  •  Ensure that all contact information and registers are kept up to date;
  •  Handle confidential information in line with the firm’s data security protocols.

Experience and Knowledge:

  • A level education or minimum 6 GCSEs at grade C (or 4) or above, including English and Mathematics (or equivalent)
  •  High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude with a general willingness to learn
  • Strong written and verbal skills and able to communicate with colleagues at all levels, clients and third parties
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  •  Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Customer focussed
  •  Ability to cope under pressure
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  •  An ability to work using own initiative within boundaries, as well as in a team, to achieve
    maximum results
  • Good attention to detail and an ability to work effectively with people across a wide range of levels and responsibilities
  •  Good organisation and time management skills
