IP Week - meet Carol

As part of Injury Prevention Week we spoke to Carol Hopwood, our Head of Serious and Catastrophic Injury and Multi Track Teams about why we support this campaign…

Tell us a bit about yourself…
"I am the Head of Serious and Catastrophic Injury and Multi Track Teams at Carpenters Group. I qualified as a Solicitor in 1993. I am a Headway UK approved panel solicitor, the founding trustee and secretary of Headway Sefton and an APIL Senior Litigator."

Why are Carpenters Group involved in APIL…
"I joined APIL not long after I qualified in 1993.  I wanted to ensure we had our finger on the pulse with current law, government plans for reform, quality training and the opportunity to share knowledge and to use APIL assistance.  We also wanted to ensure that our views were heard on reforms and felt that APIL was the platform to do that."

Why are Carpenters Group supporting Injury Prevention week and why is it important to do so…
"Every day we see the catastrophic consequences of serious injury and fatal accidents.

The ripple effects are far reaching. Independence lost. Careers ended. Families broken. Grief that lasts a life time. No amount of money can compensate when the fabric of your life unravels. 

That is why we support injury prevention week.
