It’s International Women’s Day!

At Carpenters Group we are lucky to have so many inspirational women, as well as men who support and champion our women.

To celebrate International Women’s Day this year we asked our teams to nominate the women who have inspired them, or men who inspire our women to achieve. All of our nominees will receive a token of thanks for being seen by others as being such a great support to women.

We were also fortunate enough to have a small table celebrating women in business and were able to invite a few of the outstanding nominations. Congratulations to all and thank you to those of you who took the time to nominate a colleague.

This year the theme of International Women’s Day is #BreakTheBias

Whether deliberate or unconscious, bias makes it difficult for women to move ahead and progress. Knowing that bias exists isn’t enough, action is needed to level the playing field. We all must actively be aware and mindful and call out gender bias, discrimination and stereotyping each time we see it.

Individually, we're all responsible for our own thoughts and actions - all day, every day.

We can break the bias in our communities.

We can break the bias in our workplaces.

We can break the bias in our schools, colleges and universities.

Together, we can all break the bias - on International Women's Day (IWD) and beyond.
