Strength, Grace and Three Decades of Advocacy
An interview with Amanda Marshall, a valued member of Carpenters Group’s Intermediate Track Team.
Some people carry a quiet power - the kind that brings warmth into even the hardest of conversations. Amanda Marshall, File Handler / Litigation Executive in our Intermediate Track Team (IMT), is one of those people.
Understanding Amanda’s impact means starting with the story that shaped her into the extraordinary file handler she is today.
Strength Forged Through Personal Experience
The past five years have tested Amanda in ways most of us could never imagine.
In 2021, Amanda was subjected to a violent and life‑changing attack, stabbed and left fighting for her life. Her recovery was long, painful and deeply personal.
Yet when Amanda talks about that time, she speaks less about the trauma and more about the people who helped her survive it.
“My family, friends and colleagues were relentlessly supportive,” she says. “I now know first‑hand how critical that help is. I know also that I am brave.”
A long‑standing colleague captured her resilience with admiration:
“Amanda is an outstanding woman and finds strength where others would crumble. Throughout everything - and I cannot even begin to imagine how soul‑destroying it has been - she has carried herself with class and grace and kept going for the sake of her four children.”
It’s this lived understanding of vulnerability, recovery and the need for unwavering support that now defines Amanda’s work. She gives to others what she knows is most needed, creating a powerful loop of compassion.
Her experience elevates her care for clients. Amanda is able to connect with clients on a level that can only really come from similar lived experiences.
A Career Rooted in Purpose
Before joining Carpenters Group, Amanda spent 20 years specialising in biker injury litigation in Southport. Those who worked with her early in her career recognised her exceptional abilities:
‘’Amanda gains the confidence of her clients with a reassuring and confident approach, championing their best interests but giving realistic and firm advice where necessary.”
When her former company folded, Amanda joined Carpenters Group and instantly felt at home.
“I moved to Carpenters Group, and I have never looked back,” she says.
Professional Excellence and a Reputation That Speaks for Itself
Amanda’s professionalism has only grown since joining the Carpenters team. Colleagues describe her as a joy to work with:
“She is excellent with clients, professional to the last, and always with a genuine smile. I have no idea how she has managed to cope.”
And her adaptability is just as impressive:
“Since joining Carpenters, Amanda has proved herself to be both capable and adaptable. Her Trustpilot feedback shows how valued she is. She applies herself with dedication and determination.”
This feedback reflects the reputation she has built over three decades: a trusted advocate and a genuinely kind human being.
Joining the Intermediate Track Team
In the Intermediate Track Team, Amanda now works on more complex cases where her skill and empathy can have the greatest impact.
“That personal connection with clients is what I’m passionate about,” she explains. “I enjoy getting to know them and their loved ones and helping to make a difference.”
Her ability to ask the right questions - even the difficult ones - ensures clients receive the support they need, especially those facing emotional or mental health challenges.
Carol Hopwood, Head of Serious Injury, said:
“Amanda is a masterclass in physical and emotional resilience. Her experience gives her a deeper ability to empathise with customers facing life‑changing situations. She is such an impressive individual.”
Staying Motivated and Purposeful
Amanda thrives on human connection and the energy of being around others.
“I like coming into the office and being around people,” she says warmly. “I enjoy spending time with my colleagues.”
Her motivation is simple but powerful: to help people rebuild their lives with dignity, clarity and reassurance, just as she rebuilt her own.
Her strengths combine technical experience with emotional intelligence:
- Three decades in in personal injury claims
- Extensive experience with higher-value motorcycle accidents
- A calm, client-centred communication style
- Exceptional empathy shaped by lived experience
- Steadfast professionalism in all circumstances
She is the definition of resilience in action and compassion in practice.
Life Beyond Work
Outside the office, Amanda continues to support others. She is a Girls’ Brigade leader in Southport, guiding young people with the same kindness, stability and patience she offers her clients.
What Amanda is Most Proud Of
Amanda reflects on her journey with characteristic simplicity:
“I am brave, I never gave up, and I love to help others.”
Those who know her would say the same and add that her impact reaches far further than she realises.
A Loop of Support
Amanda’s story is one of courage and compassion. Amanda is there for clients, colleagues, and the young people at Girls Brigade, in fact anyone who needs someone steady in their corner.
Carpenters Group is proud to have Amanda on our Intermediate Track Team and proud of the positive, lasting impact she makes every day.
