Action for Brain Injury Week 2026 Tackling Isolation and Loneliness
Carpenters Group is proud to support Action for Brain Injury (ABI) Week 2026, taking place from 18–24 May.
Led by Headway - the brain injury association - the national campaign raises awareness of the challenges faced by people living with brain injury and promotes greater understanding and support. This year’s theme focuses on isolation and loneliness following brain injury, shining a light on an issue that often goes unseen but has a profound impact on individuals and their families.
Serious injury changes lives
A brain injury can change every aspect of a person’s life. While some effects are immediate, many of the longer-term challenges - including those affecting confidence, communication and relationships - can be more difficult to recognise. For many people, these changes can lead to reduced independence and social interaction, contributing to feelings of isolation over time.
To help bring this to life, we are sharing a powerful video from a member of Headway Sefton, Jan Johnston, who speaks openly about his experience of brain injury and the impact of loneliness and isolation on everyday life.
At Carpenters Group, we understand that serious injury is something that reshapes lives. That is why we are committed to standing by our clients, ensuring they feel supported throughout their recovery and beyond.

By our clients’ side every step of the way
Our Serious Injury team supports individuals who have sustained complex, life-changing injuries, including traumatic and acquired brain injuries.
We know that the impact extends far beyond the immediate injury. Recovery can be long-term and often requires specialist rehabilitation, emotional support and adjustments to daily life.
That is why we are by our clients’ side at every stage, not only providing expert legal representation, but fighting on their behalf to secure the support and care they need to move forward.
By taking this approach, we help ensure our clients are not navigating these challenges alone.
Supporting Headway Sefton
Our commitment to supporting those affected by brain injury extends beyond our client work. We are proud to support Headway Sefton, recognising the vital role the charity plays in improving life after brain injury.
Headway Sefton provide essential services, practical guidance and opportunities for individuals and families to connect with others who understand their experiences. This support is particularly important in tackling isolation and helping people rebuild confidence and independence.
Our ongoing fundraising and partnership reflects our belief that supporting organisations like Headway Sefton is crucial in ensuring people affected by brain injury have access to the wider support networks they need.
