Carpenters Group are proud to partner with so many amazing charities and good causes that do vital work in our local communities. Every month we shine the spotlight on one of these to showcase everything they have to offer.
This month we have picked Zoe's Place Baby Hospice. Zoe’s Place cares for babies and young children with life-limiting, life-threatening or complex conditions.
June: Zoe's Place Baby Hospice
Please introduce your charity and a bit about yourselves...
Zoe’s Place was founded by Professor Jack Scarisbrick, in 1995.
We support babies and young children who have complex illnesses or disabilities from birth to age five.
We work to ensure that very unwell children can enjoy the best possible quality of life and we support their families throughout their journey.
As a charity, we provide our services free of charge to families who need us, relying on donations from the public.
We have three locations; Coventry, Liverpool and Middlesborough. Our hospice in Liverpool has been there for children and families on the same site in Liverpool for 29 years. We urgently need to raise £3.5 million to fund our new, long-term home. Our appeal to raise funds for our new hospice will rely upon the support of incredible individuals, companies, and organisations within Liverpool and beyond, and every single donation is an important step closer to our new home.
Tell us more about what Zoe’s place does?
Our three children’s hospices, offer respite, palliative and end of life care for children, as well as support for the whole families. With a range of play therapies and fun activities, our team of specialists work together to make every moment of childhood count.
Our vision is to ensure that every baby and young child has access to specialist short break support, palliative and end-of-life care.
Our mission is to provide child centred care to babies and infants from birth to five years living with life-threatening/life-limiting conditions and on-going support to meet the needs of the family.

Are you looking for volunteers?
We are always looking for extra pairs of hands to help the fundraising and marketing teams in our hospices, and we have a variety of different opportunities available.
Volunteers are a hugely important cog in the Zoe’s Place wheel, and we simply wouldn’t be able to function without them.
Whatever your age, skillset and experience, we would love to hear more about you! Just fill in our volunteer application form at the bottom of the page and we’ll get back to you with more details about the charity and the type of roles we need help with.
Please note:
We do not have any opportunities to work as a volunteer with our babies. This is due to the nature and complexity of their conditions. All Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.
All applications are subject to references and DBS check.
