International Day of Charity 2025

Celebrating the difference we've made together
At Carpenters Group, giving back is part of who we are. Whether it’s supporting local communities or championing causes close to our hearts, we believe in doing our bit and doing it well.
As we mark International Day of Charity 2025, we’re proud to look back on the meaningful ways we’ve supported others this year. Here’s a snapshot of what we’ve achieved together.
Easter Egg Donations
To celebrate the season, as well as providing each Carpenters colleague with an Easter egg, we donated over 1,000 to charities and community groups across Merseyside. Some of the brilliant organisations we supported included:
It was a true reflection of the generosity and teamwork that defines Carpenters Group.

Headway Sefton Ball: A Night to Remember
In May, Carpenters Group proudly served as the headline sponsor for Headway Sefton’s inaugural black-tie event, the Headway Sefton Ball, held at the Royal Liver Suite. The evening was a celebration of community and compassion, raising over £14,000 to support individuals and families affected by brain injury.
Guests were treated to welcome drinks, a three-course meal, and a luxury raffle featuring standout prizes, such as a three course meal at The Art School and a unique piece of artwork by David O'Brien.
The event premiered Headway Sefton’s first-ever fundraising appeal video, featuring our very own Carol Hopwood, Head of Serious Injury and Secretary of Headway Sefton.
It was a night filled with connection and generosity and one that left a lasting impression on everyone involved.

Supporting Sahir House & Liverpool Pride
In July, we made a donation to Sahir House, the Liverpool City Region’s LGBTQ+ and HIV charity. Since 1985, Sahir House has been supporting LGBTQ+ communities and people living with HIV across the region. Their work focuses on providing practical and emotional support in a safe and inclusive environment - helping people access the care and connection they need.
We also joined in the Liverpool Pride celebrations, standing alongside others to champion equality, inclusion, and community spirit.

Carpenters Group CEO, Donna Richards said:
“We proudly support and celebrate Pride because inclusion is at the heart of who we are. As someone with a rainbow family, I know personally how vital it is that everyone feels seen, valued, and supported - both in life and at work. We will always stand on the side of inclusion and kindness.”
Alongside these wonderful causes, Team Carpenters have taken part in many other charitable initiatives that have made meaningful impact, such as:
Business Fives Tournament
Carpenters Group's football team took part in the Business Fives tournament, raising funds for Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity while promoting wellbeing and team spirit.
Summer Raffle
Thanks to generous donations from Carpenters Colleagues, our summer raffle raised £979 for two incredible causes: The Inclusive Hub in Bootle, supporting thousands of people living with additional needs, such as Downs Syndrome, Wheelchair Users, Mental, Physical, Hearing and Visual Impairment and Alzheimer’s Society, a care and research charity for people with dementia and their carers.
Pretty Muddy
An amazing group of colleagues recently took part in the Cancer Research UK Pretty Muddy 5K in Liverpool. This fun and energetic event was a combination of obstacles, camaraderie, and a whole lot of mud, all in support of lifesaving cancer research.
Volunteering
Many colleagues volunteer in their spare time, such as Lorain Flannery, who shared her experience volunteering at Swan Women’s Centre. Read the full story

Looking Ahead
The work our colleagues have done this year reflects a genuine commitment to supporting others. This could be through fundraising, volunteering, or building long-term partnerships and these efforts continue to make a meaningful impact.
As 2025 continues, Carpenters Group remains focused on standing alongside the communities and causes that matter.
