What apprenticeship are you working towards?

The apprenticeship I am working towards is the Digital Application Support Apprenticeship.

What motivated you to pursue an apprenticeship?

I was motivated to begin an apprenticeship as it offers the perfect blend between relevant on site work experience to progress a career within the legal sector, as well as the opportunity to gain a qualification at the end of the apprenticeship. University did not feel like the correct option for me when leaving school and an apprenticeship was the perfect opportunity for me to work and learn. The appeal to work as a team was a motivating factor that encouraged me to start an apprenticeship as this is always something that has interested me, and I feel I have definitely worked well with my team since starting my job role.

Can you share a memorable experience or achievement from your apprenticeship?

A memory that has stayed with me from starting my apprenticeship here at Carpenters Group is when Caroline, my personal tutor allocated to help me through my apprenticeship advised me I was around 80% of the way through my course work and would be projected to finish soon. This shows the vast progress I was able to make in such a short amount of time within my apprenticeship. I am proud of my progression within the past 7 months and I look forward to my future within carpenters group and meeting new people.

What advice would you give to someone considering an apprenticeship?

My personal advice to others seeking out apprenticeships as a way to enter the world of work is – Do it! – apprenticeships are a great way for people to develop skills to assist them in their career, as well as an opportunity to gain useful knowledge in the field of work they are aiming to work in, which in turn sets an individual up in the world of work. I would advise to always take initiative, ensure you are asking loads of questions to get the best out of yourself in your apprenticeship.

How do you feel your apprenticeship is preparing you for the future?

My apprenticeship is preparing me for the future in many positive ways. I am able to learn and gain my qualification alongside dealing with administration tasks, and also dealing with a small number of uninsured loss cases which is hopefully setting me up for my future here at Carpenters.
