Defendant Insurance Services

Our Defendant legal services team deliver quality claims solutions across our client base

The team focuses on indemnity spend and costs containment both pre and post litigation.  The team are based across our offices on Merseyside and in Glasgow.

We are unique in the marketplace with our end to end; FNOL to trial, fully in-house claims solution all housed under one roof at Carpenters.  We have the ability to provide specialist services across the full range of cases from MOJ and OIC matters through to Catastrophic Losses, including credit hire and fraud.  We also have specialist products and bespoke strategies for our clients on the key issues in today’s market.

The Carpenters Group philosophy of “Having the right people with the right skills, using the right technology” means true subject matter specialists will handle your claims and proactively drive them towards conclusion.

We assist clients with new claims but can also ingest legacy portfolios to allow clients to focus on existing business.  One example of this is around the recent OIC Portal reforms.  We have the capability to take legacy claims that are either pre or post litigation to free up operational efficiency and ensure delivery of claims outcomes.

We have a unique position around Civil Justice Reforms, as a business we see things from both sides; Claimant and Defendant.  We have active and regular engagement with the MIB and MOJ as well as wider stakeholders.

This engagement and market standing is further strengthened by our sponsorship of the Insurance Fraud Charter.  We collaborate with the Insurance Fraud Bureau, ABI and wider market on key issues such as Google Ad Word Spoofing, leading to engagement at a Parliamentary level to shape future policy.

We are Associate Members of the ABI and MGAA members.  We see this as key to us leading the way in the industry working together going forwards, not only around Civil Justice Reforms, but also horizon spotting issues such as micro mobility, fleet risk management and technological advancements in the form of autonomous vehicles.
