Credit Hire - Court Team

Job Purpose:

To have day to day conduct of a caseload of pre-litigated, small credit hire claims.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• To chase outstanding payments due
• To review files and produce bills for payment
• To issue Court proceedings for recovery of outstanding payments
• To prepare files for Hearing
• To instruct Counsel to attend Hearings
• To instruct High Court Enforcement/County Court Bailiffs
• To deal with internal and external telephone queries
• To liaise with external agencies/Insurers/Solicitors/Courts/Debt Management firms
• To monitor and process incoming payments in a timely manner
• General administrative duties

Experience & Knowledge:

• To progress the caseload in an appropriate and timely manner, making use of the firms Case Management Systems and using the agreed internal procedures and practices
• To assess liability at all times and to ensure that at all times the client and source receive appropriate, professional, timely and pertinent legal advice and that they are kept fully informed on the progress of the claim
• To liaise with clients, obtaining detailed instructions and on boarding them ready for litigation
• To settle claims as soon as is possible, where possible,  or prepare to issue for transfer to the Litigation Team
• To achieve and exceed all targets set
• To deal with post, telephone calls and e-mails expeditiously and to ensure that not worked on lists and to do lists are kept up to date
