2019 Charity Fundraising and Donations

17 February 2020

We had a busy 2019 fundraising for numerous charities such as Fans Supporting Foodbanks, Race for Life, Claire House, Cancer Research, Save the Children, Headway Wirral and Sefton and many many more. Our teams have taken part in charity golf days, assault courses, races, challenges and have eaten countless doughnuts all in the name of charity! We recognise both the significance and importance of promoting our Social Responsibility throughout the year and we provide sponsorship almost every week through various charitable donations and fundraising events.

Our commitment to Social Responsibility has been driven by our executive team who have completed over 50 charitable endeavours to date in 2019, from supporting fantastic initiatives such as the Charles Thompson Mission most Sundays to our recent support of Fans Supporting Foodbanks, our bikers team donated a defibrillator to support the motorbike community, and finally our Santa Dash on Sunday 1st December that had a number of teams enter from across our 7 sites. 2019 was our 18th year taking part in Race for Life and team Carpenters raised an incredible £3,577! We also hold an annual Dragon Boat Race to raise money and awareness for Headway Wirral who helps support people with brain injuries. Our Dragon boat race is Headway's biggest fundraiser each year, and we are planning for 2020 to be the biggest one yet!

In 2016 we launched our #RucksackAppeal, which is incredibly well supported by our teams. We buy the rucksacks and give them out to the teams, all the teams then contribute to filling a rucksack for either a male or a female. These are then given to local homeless charity partners who distribute in time for Christmas. We have provided over 100 rucksacks to our nominated charities, with our 2019 initiative set to be our biggest yet. Once complete the chosen charities will receive their rucksacks in the days before Christmas.

In the summer of 2019 we took part in 'Escape the Wild' to raise funds for Whizz-Kidz, our team scrambled, climbed, zip lined and jumped off a 30-foot cliff! To help with our fundraising efforts we held a family charity football day and sponsored colleagues to take part in our Treadmill Challenge. From fundraising and donations, Whizz-Kidz received just over £8,000 this year from our team.
