At Carpenters Group, our competitive edge is driven by our inclusive and open culture. People are at the heart of everything we do; we truly value our people, our customers and our clients and work hard to foster a supportive environment which encourages collaboration and innovation.

Since the beginning of our Carpenters Group journey, we have continuously invested in all areas of our business, always maintaining a strong focus on our people. Throughout 2022, we undertook a significant programme of investment in leadership and development programmes, whereby over 140 of our existing and newly promoted managers were supported through a leadership and management development programme. We have greatly enhanced our diversity and inclusion priorities and continued to build strong links with our local schools and colleges to provide advice and development opportunities to a wide-ranging socio-economic and diverse audience.

With the ever-evolving insurance market and technological landscape, we continue to remain committed to ongoing investment in technology to enable us to deliver a first class service to our clients and remain at the forefront of technological advancements within the insurance marketplace. We constantly look at ways to develop our infrastructure to support our business, particularly as our teams grow and we diversify our offering. We have grown significantly and quickly, but at our core, we are still a family business who still care about our people and our first class customer service to clients, in the same way that we did when we started out.

Even in this very competitive market, we have continued to retain longstanding clients, win new work and to develop and invest in the technologies that we need and use to deliver our services. We now successfully operate a hybrid working model within the business as we have adapted to evolving business models post pandemic.

We continue to bolster our ESG agenda, committing to SBTs (Science Based Targets) which look to reduce our impact on the environment, engage with responsible suppliers within our client base and supply chain, and finesse how we govern our business by championing equality, transparency and accountability at senior levels of leadership. We also continue to work hard to futureproof our business having developed a very clear talent acquisition, resource, retention and succession planning agenda.

With continued growth expected, 2023, is set to be another ambitious and exciting year. Our continued consistent focus on our people provides us with the opportunity to create change in an environment of trust and support, truly giving Carpenters Group a competitive advantage of having the most engaged people delivering exceptional client service.
