Matched Giving: Well done Andrew!

Andrew Marsh who recently completed the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London in aid of the Institute of Cancer Research and received a £250 fundraising boost.

Andrew had this to say: “On the 9^th of October I ran the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London in aid of the Institute of Cancer Research. It was the first ever half marathon I have done and was almost enjoyable in parts!

I chose to support and raise funds for the Institute of Cancer Research after cancer affected my family at the start of 2022. Seeing a family member battle through treatment is very difficult and I wanted to try and give something back in any way that I could. I viewed the run as a great opportunity to help raise money for the Institute of Cancer Research. The charity itself does some excellent work in looking at ways to improve how cancer is treated, I believe that the research into the disease that they do is vital and I hope my small donation can be of some help to them.

So far I have managed to raise £1,085 which is over double what I was looking to raise! The donations received from friends and family have been incredible”
