National Apprenticeship Week 2024 - Part 1
06 February 2024
Carpenters Group are proud to be celebrating National Apprenticeship Week 2024 and would like to give a special shout out to all of our wonderful apprentices!
We have an ever growing apprenticeship scheme, with apprentices across all areas of our business including IT, legal, HR, insurance, marketing and management.
Here’s what some of them have to say!
Meet Marcus:
What apprenticeship are you doing?
Human Resources (HR) CIPD Level 3
What have you learned on the apprenticeship?
I have learnt about the role of HR in employee relations and engagement, recruitment, diversity and inclusion. I have also learnt about how important HR is to get right in all organisations.
How has the apprenticeship supported you in your role?
The apprenticeship has helped me to gain the knowledge and experience of what a HR team does in practice. I have also been given the opportunity to get to know the people in the business.
What are your future plans?
My future plans are to continue with my study to the next Level of the CIPD (Level 5) and beyond.
Meet Ella:
What apprenticeship have you be doing?
CiILEX Level 3 Paralegal Apprenticeship
What have you learned on the apprenticeship?
I have expanded my knowledge on the Law on Tort and Civil Litigation, whilst also adopting the key skills required for a paralegal. This has led me to understand the work I am completing day- to -day in more depth, increase my competence and enable me to provide a good service to clients.
What would you have done differently?
If I was to do this apprenticeship again, I would not have let myself get as stressed. It was initially overwhelming meeting work and apprenticeship deadlines. However my training provider was very supportive and I was eventually able to balance my studies and work well.
How has the apprenticeship supported you in your role?
My apprenticeship has increased my confidence and allowed me to progress within my role in work. When I began the apprenticeship, I had only recently started file handling. I have now been doing this for nearly two years, and find that I have developed many of the skills which I struggled with, such as time management and dealing with work pressures.
What are your future plans?
I am looking to continue working on establishing existing skills and growing new skills simultaneously. I hope to continue learning and eventually obtain my CILEX Level 6 qualification.
