Rainbow Trust confirms New Liverpool Care Team

02 February 2023

Rainbow Trust supports families who face the very real possibility that their child might die. Many struggle to cope daily and Rainbow Trust’s expert Family Support Workers provide a much-needed lifeline to help them make the most of their time together by offering emotional and practical support for as long as it is needed. Rainbow Trust was set up 35 years ago, has seven existing care teams and last year support 1,126 families across the country.

This is the first time it will have a permanent presence in Liverpool, it will not only offer support to families living in the city but also expand across the North West and into North Wales.

Zillah Bingley, Rainbow Trust Chief Executive says:
We hear the impact the increasing cost of living is having first-hand from the families we support, with over 90% of respondents to our recent family survey saying that their financial situation is now worse off due to the increased cost-of-living.

Families should not have to choose between keeping warm or keeping their child alive and as we approach the cold winter months it is vital that the Government acts now to ease the financial burden for these families before it’s too late.”

It will cost £164,000 a year to support 80 families in Liverpool. By pledging your support to your local Rainbow Trust team, you can ensure that families in Liverpool and the surrounding area with a seriously ill child will receive the support that they need, when they need it.

Donna Scully, Carpenters Group Director says:
“We have supported Rainbow Trust for many years now. They are an incredible charity and make such a powerful difference in so many lives. We are thrilled that they will have a new team in Liverpool and are looking forward to continue to support them in any way that we can.”
