National Apprenticeship Week, meet Elizabeth

09 February 2022

National Apprenticeship Week 2022 takes place this week, from 7-13 February 2022. It brings together everyone passionate about apprenticeships to celebrate the value, benefit, and opportunity that apprenticeships bring.

At Carpenters Group, we feel passionately about creating opportunities for our people whilst at the same time supporting their development and career paths.

This week we have asked some of our apprentices to talk about their apprenticeship journeys and future career plans and aspirations...

Elizabeth Gerrard – HR Level 3

"I started my apprenticeship with Carpenters Group in October 2020 to begin my career in HR. I have been lucky enough to work alongside a brilliant People Team, with highly experienced colleagues, who are thoroughly encouraging and supportive of my role and learning development.

This has been a huge contributing factor in the experience and success of my apprenticeship, which I officially finished in January. The skills I have learnt over these 15 months and the exposure I have had to the profession has been invaluable. This has allowed me to progress into a career suited to me whilst working in a supportive and inspiring environment. My experience, not only completing an apprenticeship but also working for Carpenters Group, has been enjoyable and fulfilling mostly thanks to my colleagues and the ethos of the company. I am eager to continue my apprenticeship studies with a level 5 qualification and to see what the future holds for myself as a HR professional.

If you are thinking about the potential of an apprenticeship I would fully encourage looking into apprenticeship resources online and speaking with the Learning and Development Team at Carpenters Group to explore the opportunities available to you."
